How to create a podcast with better episodes in less time using AI?

Hi,

I’ve been thinking about starting a podcast, but honestly, the whole process feels a bit overwhelming. Recording is one part, but editing audio, removing background noise, creating transcripts, writing episode summaries, and making social media clips seem to take a lot of time.

I’ve heard that AI tools can automate many of these tasks, but there are so many options that I’m confused about which one is actually worth using. Some people recommend Descript, while others talk about Riverside, Adobe Podcast, or ElevenLabs.

For those who well-versed in those tools particularly in creating podcasts, pls share me which AI tool has made the biggest difference for you?

I’d also love to know your workflow—from planning an episode to publishing it. Any tips for beginners, common mistakes to avoid, or affordable AI tools would be really helpful.

Looking forward to your reply! Thanks in advance!

A few months ago, I wanted to create a short podcast series about blogging tips and AI tools to share with my friends. I wasn’t confident about recording and editing, so I tried NotebookLM to organize my notes and Descript for editing the audio. First, I prepared a simple script with AI, recorded the episode using my phone, and then imported it into Descript. It automatically generated the transcript, removed filler words, and reduced background noise. What used to take me nearly 2–3 hours was finished in less than an hour.

My friends said the audio sounded much cleaner and the episodes were easier to follow. Of course, AI wasn’t perfect—I still had to correct a few transcription mistakes and manually adjust the pacing in some places. But overall, it made podcast creation much less stressful. I think AI is an excellent helper for beginners, especially if you’re creating educational podcasts about blogging or technology. So you too can try NotebookLM..

There are now quite a few AI tools that make podcast creation much easier than before. If you’re just getting started, NotebookLM is a great option. You can upload your blog post, PDF, or document, and it can turn it into a natural two-person podcast conversation automatically.

If you already have a script, Wondercraft is another good choice. It lets you choose different AI voices, edit the script, and even clone your own voice. For creators who want video podcasts,

HeyGen is worth trying because it creates AI avatar videos without needing a camera. I also like Podcastle for recording and editing, as it offers AI voices, automatic transcription, and noise removal.

Each tool has its own strengths, so the best one depends on your workflow. I’d suggest trying the free versions first and then deciding which fits your podcasting style the best.

One idea that came to my mind while reading this thread is that AI can also help us test podcast ideas before spending time recording a full episode. I recently used AI to create a rough script for a blogging podcast and shared it with a few friends. The feedback helped me remove boring sections and add more useful examples before I even started recording. That saved me a lot of time and avoided unnecessary editing later.

I think that’s one advantage people don’t talk about enough. Also, I strongly believe our own voice, experiences, and storytelling are what make listeners stay till the end. AI should help us prepare better, not replace the creator.
